The tricky thing about a bad mattress is how slowly it gets bad.

You don’t notice. Not at first. The decline is gradual. A little less support here, a slight sag there. Your body adapts, compensates, and you forget what good sleep actually felt like.

Then one day you sleep somewhere else, maybe a hotel or a friend’s place, and wake up feeling completely different. Suddenly you realise something has been wrong for a long time.

You sleep better in other beds. Pay attention to this. If hotels or other people’s homes give you better rest than your own bed, that’s your mattress telling you something important.
